Time to warp up warm!

We all love (and by now most of us have one) the slanket but what for this year?
How about the brand new Double Siamese Slanket!
The new gigantic fleece blanket with sleeves for not one but two people. Soft, light weight but so warm, and with large loose sleeves made just so you feel like your not wearing the blanket at all but just have it wrapped around you.
Simplistic and practical, now you can share the slanket's wounderness, with your partner or just take the whole huge blanket for yourself!
Featured in two colours Chocolate and Ruby these are going to make great presents for couples, at that time of the year which is still not close enough for me to name.

The Coat Hook

Well it has always been such a useful little thing, sitting there happily ready to take your coat or hat etc. but if we are going to be honest it really is not the coolest thing in the house. That is until today! Fresh in at Prezziesplus is the very cool Ninja Coat Hook!
These things look to realistic and will liven up any hall way! OK so they are not quite real Ninja Stars that you have to through at the wall for them to stick in (which is what we first thought before we got them in) but in fact one of the 'points' is very cleverly designed and is in fact a screw which allows you to simple screw them into the wall like you would with any coat hook.
Everything about this guys looks very real down to the 'sharp points' which in fact are smooth and very coat friendly.
Yet another item from Prezziesplus which there is no doubt about it will start a conversation the next time your friends pop round to say hi.

Bags are Getting Geeker...yay :D

After looking through many different websites and hunting down more cool stuff I found one thing.... laptop bags and sleeves are getting nerdier, and some of them are very cool indeed.

The first bag up is the 'My Documents Laptop Sleeve' I found this one here and think it spells
true nerd. The Neoprene sleeve is big enough to happily fit up to 15.4inch laptops and has a inner fleece lining that protects your laptop!
Next up is the Ultraslim laptop backpack! Found here. Most backpacks are large and bulky and just tend to get in the way and are a pain to carry about, so when you come to needing a bag for your laptop you have to end up getting something huge which can be ok if you need space for more then your laptop but if you only need something for your laptop there isn't much you can do. Until now! the Ultraslim laptop backpack has a very slim design that fits up to 17inch laptops. No more taking up lots of room with this little guy!

The Wine Aerator!

Something for those Wine connoisseurs (me not being one of them!) or just anyone that enjoys and glass from time to time! This little gadget is for you all!

Wine needs to breathe and we all know you get home from work and there is no why you are going to look at that lovely open bottle of wine for half an hour before you drink it ??

Well we now have the answer that enough improves that cheap bottle of plonk you brought on the way home in the supermarket.

As wine breathes, it opens up and releases its intended aromas and flavours. The Vinturi Wine Aerator draws in and uses the proper amount of air for the right amount of time, allowing your wine to breathe instantly; you'll appreciate a better bouquet, enhanced flavours, and smoother finish.

Perfect aeration in the time it takes to pour your favourite glass of wine.

Could this get any cooler?

On my on going hunt for the coolest geekest most amazingness (that is a word!) gifts and gadgets i found this little guy at thinkgeek.com, the bluetooth laser virtual keyboard!!!
This thing is so cool and if i had the money i would be getting me one right away, simply sit it down on a flat surface and it projects a full size qwerty keyboard into the surface. Start typing away and it makes realistic clicking sounds to let you know its working. Think how cool you would look pulling one of these out of your pocket on the train and typing away on your PDA, Phone or other bluetooth enabled device, and at the size of just over a match box it sure beats trying to carry and keyboard around!
So what can i say if anyone fancy's getting me a early Christmas present....i wouldn't mind one of these!
O well anyway back to my on going hunt! have a great night all and remember its the weekend again!

How to spice up your next Game of golf..

Golf is a very well know game and loved by many etc. etc. ok that was boring, anyway the chances are you like to play golf or know someone who does, and by now will have bought pretty much every 'fun' and different thing you could ever get that is golf related. So thats it isnt it? just time to tee off and enjoy the game..... wrong!
The leastest thing from PrezziesPlus is sure to spice up your next game with your friends or the boss, try the new 'Camo Golf Balls' yes thats right golf balls covered in camo!
As soon as they get anywhere near the grass they are nearly impossible to find and get anywhere near the ruff and you might as well quit before you start. These balls will have you searching for a life time and even get you to start playing in a whole know way.....you will be trying to hit the sand bunker just so you can find you ball.
Each pack comes with 3 balls and is the gift every golf should get as a joke or just to wind them up next time they go for a game and see all they have are the camo balls left!

Things are getting bloody...

With a range of new products there seem to be a trend... everything seems a little bloody. The Blood Bath Shower Curtain being the first on my list, featuring what seems to be a normal shower curtain but when opened up shows blood stained hand prints. A little spooky yes but perfect for slasher film lovers.
My next item on the list is the new Butchers Apron, a blood stained apron for all the true BBQ lovers! Made from a 100% cotton it makes the perfect gift for BBQ's however i don't recommend it for vegetarians!.
The last of my list are the Action Hero Vests these vests are very cool, there are three different vests the one in the link has very realistic claw marks across them.
I love them all and think they are great and would work very well for a certain day coming up at the end of October (i don't know do you think its still to early to say it?)

You can buy stuff with nearly anything on these days....Including 'fakebook'!

A new website i stumbled into the other day (well i think its new anyway) seems to be selling some very funny t-shirts, caps, mugs and even shirts for your dogs!!
The T-shirts have a range quotes on them but all based around 'fakebook' which i think you can all work out what that's a spoof of, but i do think they are pretty funny and would make a great gift for everyone you know that cant keep of a certain social networking site. But really the point of this post, as the site got me thinking, it does seem that these days pretty much anyone can very quickly set up a business selling t-shirts with quotes or what ever on. Something i do enjoy doing is collecting t-shirts etc. with different quotes of logos on (most of which end up being quite nerdy like my ubuntu jumper) so i may have to get myself one of these. Anyway i guess your all dieing to have a look at the site to grab yourself one so here is the link.

Free Power for all!

well this is the first post of the 'new' age of the prezziesplus blog and as such i decided i should talk about something that i find very cool and do love, and that is hand held solar charger units!
I think these things are one of the best inventions and gadgets of the last few years, i my self do not in fact own a 'pocket solar charger' but i do quite a bit of camping and many of my friends do have them.
They have to be one of the most useful things to have when out in the country side, as these days most come with a fist full of charger connections so you can recharge pretty much anything and most of them will store the charge so when there is sun you can charge it ready for when it is needed. Saying that i have found many of the new solar charges in fact work pretty well in conditions where there is very little bright sunlight which just shoes how the technology is moving on!
Now knowing my love for these gadgets you can think how over joyed i was to in fact find out that prezziesplus are now stocking these little guys, and i hope to get my hands on one soon (as infact im going camping this weekend!).
i know i know i said there where going to be less posts about stuff from prezziesplus but this was a gadget i just coulnt pass up talking about. Stay in tune tomorrow for more posts!

Charging has just got 'Messless'

Messless® is a universal charger suitable for use with any kind of electronic device, eg. MP3 players, mobile phones, video game platforms, PDAs, digital cameras and much more.

Giugiaro designed, its elegant and modern design means it goes perfectly with any space or decor, whether at home or in the office. Its stylish design combines form and functionality.

Forget the cords, as its name implies, this product is designed with 'less mess' in mind. Messless® is a charge station that lets you forget the tangle of chargers and cords you need to keep your electronic devices charged and ready to use.

Never run out of battery, the end of an era is near. Having a Messless® always within reach couldn't be easier - keep one at home and another in your office.

Use the mini USB or Apple connector to charge your device from any USB port! Simply unplug them from the Messless and then use them from your laptop or PC. Note, does depend on the software level on your device, however we have tested with various Applie iPods and Blackberry phones.

The list of compatible connectors is constantly being updated to keep up with the latest electronics on the market.

And what else can i say this is one of my favorite new items in, makes charging everything sooooo much easier and whats best it saves on power plugs which in a old house like mine is always a good thing. Plus i think it really does look very funky and is something you would really want to show off to your friends.

1 x AC cable
1 x DC cable
6 x connectors compatible with / to charge:-

– 1 x Mini USB
– 1 x Sony Ericsson K750
– 1 x PSP

User manual

Specification:-

Weight (approx.): 485g with connectors / 450g without connectors

NB: Messless® is not designed to charge devices such as laptops or others which require a higher voltage to charge.

NBB: Some customers have remarked that there are feint plastic lines near to the connectors on the top plastic surface. During the plastic injection process, these marks are called WELDING LINES. When the plastic material flows around the holes of the connector, separating the liquid plastic in two different streams, the two streams join at the opposite side of the injection point. These are perfectly normal and every Messless has this characteristic.

The Wiki Digital Camcorder - Final Review

As many of you will know i took with me on my travels a Wiki Digital Camcorder so that i could test it out and use it for a while to be able to then give a good review about the product. Now that i am back from the US it is time to write that review and let you all know that i think of this camcorder/camera.
Well where to start...
There are many good points about this small camera, one of which is the speed and easy of use which made it something you would want to have with you every second of the day, as within 3 seconds from pressing the on button you would be able to take a photo or start recording video. Which i have to say is great if you suddenly get caught up in something you want to take a picture of like say someone famous driving by? You really don't want to be spend 2minutes trying to get the right setting and find the right button, this camera makes taking pictures that bit easier simply press the on button then your away switch between video and picture mode just as easily pressing the 'mode' button. There are then up and down buttons that are used for zoom and then a switch on the side to change between 'hi' and 'low' resolutions. The set up means that anyone can use this camera even someone that has never used a camera before and really doesn't want something that will make them look back at the intrusions every 5 secs.
I also think this camera is perfect for bloggers/youtubers/twitters or anyone else of the sort as the quickness of the camera means you catch every moment of what goes on. There is also a USB that slides out the top of the camera so you can plug it straight into your computer and upload your picture and videos very quickly, The resolution for the video is also set to what youtube describes as 'the best resolution to use what uploading video'.
The camera does use 2 AA battery's which i thought would be a pain as i would have to carry lots of spares and be forever changing them, but over the whole 2 weeks i was in the US i never had to change the battery's at all, it still even says it has about 50% life left. So what can i say i guess dew to the simpleness of it, and not having a fancy camera or flash it is able to use very little battery life.
The only real down side to this camera is it doesn't remind you to take it with you where ever you go! There where a few times when i forgot to bring it and ended up kicking my self for doing so. So if they bring out a Wiki digital camcorder V2 it should have this on it defiantly.
But apart from that there isn't really much i can say bad about this camera, you would be very hard pressed to find anything as good and easy to use in that price range. I would really recommend this for anyone that doesn't want something with lots of menus and options and just wants to be able to take pictures, or even someone that really wants to take pictures quick and never miss anything.

The Last Post of my Trip

Well i have made it home in one peace and now rested up and feel willing to write once more (as you really have to be in the mood for it), so here is one last post about my trip back over the pond.
Well firstly in case you didn't know Ted kennedy's funeral was in Boston on saturday, so this was the start of a few things that made my trip back a pain.
So i got to Boston airport and it was raining and very grey and well very English really, but the thing was we where wondering if my flight was going to be delayed or canceled because of this, as it was just the start of a tropical storm that was moving up the east coast. I got through check in after being put into basically a holding pen for 30mins because i had a paper ticket so had to wait for a real person to check me in. This was a pain but was ok, and i got through secuirty very quickly as it was a internal flight so there where not many people around, and i got to where the plane would be coming in very quickly. I saw the board that tells you times etc. and it siad my flight was on time which was great, but i did have about a hour to wait so i found a seat got out my headphones and listened to music. Now about 5 mins before boarding was ment to start the plane still wasn't there so something was up, and you guessed it something was up, dew to the weather the plane wasn't going to be able to land until like 30mins after it should have, which really wasn't good for me as i only had a 1 hour and 10 mins before my next flight left Washington from when i should have got to Washington.
Well after about 20mins the plane was able to land and boarding took place so i had a little more time as they said they where going to try and make up most of the time in the air, basically push the engines a little faster. But as we where lining up to taking off, they then said they where not able to take off for like 15 mins as the US planes had to take off first (basically all the planes with the people from Ted's funeral) so it not meant once again i would be very hard pushed to make it to my flight one time.
Once we got in the air we did make up some time and once we got into Washington they left people with connecting flights off first which was handy, it gave me about 30 mins before the flight left to get to it, it was going to be really close but there was a good chance i was going to make it. So i ran to the screen found where the flight was and ran to the gate.
But luckily all was ok as my second flight had also been delayed dew to weather (so i guess all flights coming in/out of Washington had been delayed? maybe who knows), this ment that all was fine they hadn't even started boarding. After getting on the plane everything went to plan which was great, one thing that did make me laugh was as the captin was doing his speech thingy at the start (you know welcome to the flight thank you for flying with us etc etc) he said "and in the pocket in front of you, you will find the magazine with infomation on what will be showing on your tv's, which is completely useless as the technicians have already uploaded Septembers programs and we don't have the September magazine yet". This really made me laugh and was a real pain as he said what was on what channel and if you could remember you had to ask a member of staff for a peace of paper with it on.
Apart from this the flight was fine and i got back into London at 6am, dad picked me up and off i went home to sleep and try to get back into the England time.

And that is my trip to the US over, what can i say i had a amazing time and enjoyed every min of it and really wish it didnt end to quickly, but oh well i guess its back to the normal boring dya for me..

Day 12 - Blind people and Iphones

Today i had a big challenge infront of me, i was going to try to teach my blind grandma how to use her new IPhone 3GS. Why and how you might ask well i will answer these, but first you need to know the why.
A good few years back she starts a company selling stuff for blind people as well as people with little site etc. This business as been going very well and was this year (or last year i forget) sold to a bigger company, however they asked her and everyone else that worked for the company to stay on and work for them which is now what she is doing.
Not to long ago the big company was asked by apple to work with them on accessibility (allowing blind people etc. to use there products easily) on there new IPhone 3GS and snow leopard OSX. So this is why my grandma has a IPhone 3GS as they would like her to learn how to use it and tell apple ways to improve it.
So there is the why, now the how is a little harder to explain so at the bottom of this post is a video that shows you just down it works, really its just the first bit that's what we are interested in but it shows all.
We spent most of the day teaching her how to use it, she still hasn't get got it but is getting there as after all its very hard to work it if you cant see what is on the screen. There are also still some bugs like it all not always say whats on the screen, which really didn't help but that's why shes using it to work out whats wrong with it. After a long days teaching she then sent a quick email to the guy in charge of accessibility at Apple asking him a few things and telling him the bugs we found out, so you never know they might fix it.

Day 11 - The holiday winds down

Well theres only a few days left so for the rest of the time i will be doing less as i get ready for the trip back hope.
However day my grandad had the day off work so we went out to get some more shopping done. I was able to finish getting everything i needed, and then we decided to head for the cinema, where we watched the new harry potter flim.
The movie was good but as always the missed a hell of a lot of the book out, but i hadnt read it in a long time so i couldnt really remember much of it.
However there was on thing we couldnt find, and this was a cable for my grandmothers phone, the USB cable, we looked in every phone store and computer store that we went in or near, but we where unable to find it anywhere. So i guess we will have to get that online.
Apart from that not much really happened yesterday, so i guess todays blog isnt that amazing, but i hope you have enjoyed the blog, and we will go back to talking about new products and gadgets soon

Day 10 - A break from my Holiday

After over a week of day so much, from going to new york to shopping until my feet hurt it was about time to have a break from my holiday. So today as my grandparents had to go to work, i decided it was a perfect day to just sit around the house and have a day off. Yes i know that really doesn't sound like a good thing to blog about, and really your right, however i did do some work with the WIKI camera in the garden, so i will talk about that instead.

These pictures are of the 'evil' ducks that keep invading the deck. This one is without any zoom and i think has come out very well
This is of the same ducks but with about half zoom
And this is the ducks at full zoom, which hasn't come out to well but it isn't that bad
This is a picture of that evenings sunset which was beautiful, and didn't come out to well in the low light but its ok.
And this is a video of the lake
Tomorrow i will be back to my normal blogging, that is if i do anything....but I'm sure i will

Day 9 - Water Slides and Roller Coaster

Today was my last day with my auntie and her family, so we had to think of something to do. Thing was we couldn't think of anything to do, so we jumped online and tried to hunt down something to do. In the end we would a place, it was a water park and amusement park, it sounded like alot of fun so we all showered and got ready to head out for the day.
I finished packing all my stuff and then we got in the car and headed for the park, stopping first to get some breakfast and a ice coffee. Then it was a quick hour drive to the park which wasn't bad at all, and was close to where we had to drop me off that evening anyway.
We got to the park, and headed inside, i didn't bring my camera in as there where alot of water rides and knowing me i would break it or get it wet so it stayed in the car nice and safe. For the price the place was really good, for about $30 you where able to go in the water park and amusement park, as well as go-carts. There where a few very big rides which for the size of park where really good, there was a very large old wooden roller coaster which was very bumpy, there was also a very high ride that drops you down, the drop was fine but it was the highest one i had ever been on.
Then in the water park there was to huge water slides, in both you had to be in like floats but they fit like 4 people. One of the rides you like dropped down this steep slope then into a big funnel which you spun around in getting soaked before dropping out the bottom. The other was a very long tube that twisted and turned but you where in the complete dark and couldn't see where you were going.
Well the whole day was great and there where lots of other very good rides, it came round to about 4:30 and we decided it was time to head off, as we did it started to get back to the car the heavens opened and it chucked down with rain, so we jumped in the car and headed for my grandparents house. Once we got to there house i dropped off my stuff and we then all headed out for dinner, we went to a place down the road that does the best burgers in the world! They where amazing, and once we where down i headed back with my grandparents and my auntie and family headed back to there house.
Then that evening was just spent relaxing and enjoying the cooler weather

Day 8 - Ghosts and Gouls

Once again another day in the very hot US, it seems like i have been here forever yet the last 8 days have gone by so very quickly indeed. Today we didn't have to much planned during the day as that evening we where going to be taking a ghost tour around Boston, so we thought lets head to a go-cart place for the morning. This was a great idea apart from the small fact that when we got there they said you have to be over 18 and have a driving licence, fair enough as these where very fast go-carts hence why we wanted to go on them.
So that didn't go to well, instead we headed to a shopping mall for the morning while we tried to come up with something to do during the day. It came round to lunch time still couldn't really think of much, so we stopped in to have lunch and got out the good old iPhone and googled stuff to do in Boston. There where a few ideas and in the end we decided to just head into Boston on the train and go down to the sea front and find something down there to do. Being the main around for tourist of cause we found something to do, we took a boat tour on the 'codzilla'. One of the best boat tours ever, it was basically a giant speed boat and did about 40mph and some very sharp turns, luckily we didn't get very wet however the people at the back of the boat....not so lucky really.
After the boat trip it was once again about time to eat, so we stopped in to get something to eat then went on to a really nice ice cream place for ice cream (ok i know what else would you get at a ice cream store...). After stuffing are faces it was nearly time for the days main event, the ghost tour around Boston streets and grave yards. So we got onto the bus for the ghost tour and watch all these different people dressed up as dead people etc. walk around waiting for everyone to get on, what was really funny about these people is they all had very fake British accents, well one sounds far more Irish but said they where from England, but what i want to know is why did they fake these accents? i guess we have a much scarier accent maybe? Who knows but o well. The tour itself was great they told us lots of storeys about different things that happened as we went to the different grave yards and parks etc. We also went past the oldest hotel in the US which was said to be haunted on like half of floors and the tour guide got us to yell 'your all screwed' to every one outside the hotel.
When we stopped at traffic lights she also got us to on the count of 3 scream really loudly at people working by watch was quite funny.
This was however the point where i found the cameras first real downside, as it has no flash it was impossible for me to take any pictures while we where on the tour, which is a shame because it was alot of fun and would have been cool to show you.
After the tour was over we head back for the train and home again, once again it had been a great day but a long one, i really thinking im going to need a holiday from my holiday...

Day 7 - No blogging before coffee

firstly i would like to say I'm very sorry for yesterdays post, lets say it wasn't my best work this was because i had tried to blog before having a cup of coffee, which i know is like against the blogging law, and now i see why. Its just impossible to write anything good without first having coffee.
So now that I'm fueled up and ready to go lets get blogging...
So after a good nights sleep on possibly the best couch in the world, i got up and had a shower ready for going out for breakfast (but sadly forgot the coffee). When everyone was up and moving we headed for breakfast as this really nice place which was completely packed, but we came just in time as we got in a line started to form outside, so we where very luckily. I had chocolate chip and strawberry pancakes and they where amazing, and fresh orange juice which was so good.
After another great breakfast here in America, and as we walked back to the car we came up with something new, basically i was sneezing alot so instead of saying bless you every time we came up with a blessing someone for the whole day so they are covered for all sneezing, and great idea if i don't say so my self. So anyway we headed for a day of hanging out at the outlet stores and shopping, which was great because the whole thing had air con anyway.
So we got to the outlet stores, which is basically a huge mall with like over 70 stores, there was everything anyway could ever need, and ok i got dragged into alot of shoe stores and other women's stores but hey like i said they had air con and in that weather i was more then happy to come inside.
There were not as many gadget and nerd stores as i would have liked so in the end i didn't really buy much, but i did get a new pair of shoes, new t-shirt and a pencil case (because i always buy the most interesting things...). But walking around wasn't that bad and there was some very cool stores like the sony store and the Bose store so i was happy, well manly because of the AC.
After a long day we headed for my uncles house for dinner and to meet this new girl friend, yet again however we some how went wrong way, so what should have been a 30min drive it pretty much doubled as we went in completely the wrong we, however we where not lost at all...
However we did in the end get there so everything was ok even if we where a bit late. One thing i have to say is my uncle is a amazing cook and dinner was so good even though i wasn't that hungry i made room for it.
After dinner we headed back and once again i dropped onto the couch and went to sleep...

Day 7 - Canobie Lake

This morning my grandma had to go to work, so my grandad took her, they had gone by the time i got up and had forgot to tell me that the cleaners where coming over. So that was a bit of a shock waking up with women i didn't know in the house, so i just went and had a shower and stayed out of the way.
Once they had left i went to get something to eat and get ready for the days events, at about 10am my auntie came over to pick me up, I'm going to be staying with them for a few days. After they picked me up we all headed for canobie lake (click to see website), which should have only taken about 20 mins to get there but we tried to take a...'short cut' and it ended up taking 40 mins so it wasn't the shortest short cut in the world. But in the end we did get there and we had a great day, there where lots of very cool rides and there was alot to do. When we went to get something to eat i asked for a piece of pizza which was not very nice but ok, then i asked for some bread sticks but i got a plate of pasta....another person who for some reason couldn't understand me, that or the new word for pasta is bread stick, o well who knows.
Anyway the day was really good and after we finished at canobie lake we headed back to there house so i could drop my bags off and get changed before we went out for dinner.
For dinner we headed for a pizza place which had some of the nicest pizza i have had in a long time, after eating we stopped in at a store and got a copy of the rocky horror picture show, to watch that evening.
After watching the film i decided it was about time to get some sleep so i made up my bed on the couch and slept ready for another day packed full of stuff to do.

Day 6 - The Ride home

After another very late night the night before i slept in until about 8 which compared to the rest of the time in New York was very late indeed. When we did get up we headed for the breakfast place across from the hotel where we ate and planned what to do for the morning. I decided i really wanted to go back to the large Sony store and have a look around if i can find some nice headphones.
So we headed what we thought was the way, until my grandad decided he had gotten us lost, you know when your lost when you have to get the iPhone out to see where you are and work out where we had gone wrong. Well it wasn't to bad we where just a few blocks over so it was only another 10 min walk, which was lovely and gave me time to take a few pictures with my camera which now had fresh battery's and i didn't forget. We got to the Sony store which was really cool, and sold pretty much everything Sony made, and the best part was it was the same price as in any other of there stores. I hunted around the store looking at all the different headphones they had out that you could test, i tried a few pairs but in the end decided on one pair the 'noise canceling headphones MDR-NC7'. They are so nice to use and fold up so are perfect for traveling, just what i needed, whats even better is they where only $50 and when i looked only for a UK price they where £50 so i saved a good amount of money there.
After the good time in there Sony store it was about time we headed back to the hotel where we would meet another one of my grandparents friends and have lunch before we head to get the bus back to Boston.
Lunch was lovely and we sat around for a while talking until we decided it was about time we headed for the bus stop, well i say bus stop but basically you just head to wait on the side of the road for the bus, i decided this was one of the many ways they where able to keep the cost down at $14. So we waited around for a hour or so until the bus came, we got on to another amazing bus, leather seats, a toilet in the back and WIFI you would thing you would have to pay at least three times as much money to ride on this bus, it was prefect.
We got back into Boston at about 8:50pm and where able to jump right on to the next bus to take us back to the car, this was great as we didn't have to wait around at all. Once we got to the car we headed back for the house where we or slept well
.

Day 5 - hair

well i have to say from the start I'm sorry for not having any pictures of my time in New York, but I forgot to get the camera out the first day and then i found the battery's need to be replaced (that's what you get when you play with it alot and drain them). Right now I'm on the bus so later tonight i will be uploading what pictures I did take for you all to see, until then enjoy the blog...

We started really early again this morning (I swear nearly every morning is a early one in new york) as we had to get a boat at 9.

So we were up bright and early at about 6 and headed for somewhere to grab something to eat. After eating a very nice meal of bacon and eggs we headed for the subway, like all subways this was very busy at this time, but we where there first stop so we got seats and where fine. After a 30 min or so bus ride we then walked through battery park (not the place where battery's where invented like my grandad said), and found the ferry place to take us across to lady liberty herself. The people at the ferry where very nice and moved us to the front of the line (as my grandma says nothing like using the 'blind card').

So got over to the island, it was a nice ride very hot but a light breeze made it live able. We got off the boat and as we were getting off they men said o don't worry about lining up just come up here and sit on the bench (strike two for the blind women). As we walked up heading for the statue, we got the voice tour thingies to listen to while we got in line to go inside the statue. After about 45mins waiting we made it inside and i have to say it was amazing, however we only where able to make it to basically where the statue itself starts as the rest of the way was closed off, but you could look up and see inside it which was cool.

Then after coming back down and having a nice walk round the island we headed back for the ferry, and back to the hotel as by now it was really time for a cold shower and a few hours relaxing. As we came up to the ferry they had already started to load people on, so we did as the guy head send and just walked up, as he spotted us he told the whole line to start and let us through, as we pasted him i said 'you really love this don’t you' he said 'yup, i love having the control...sometimes i just make them stop and move back for the fun of it'.

The trip back was fine and i just longed for the hotel room, which when we all got back felt so good just to have a shower and lie down for a while, ready for the real event of the day...

As the evening came around we yet again met up with my grandparents friend (she was so kind and basically worked out everything for us to do which was great) and headed for dinner. This was the only evening that we had a nice quite fancy meal (i even put on a shirt (no i hadn’t been topless the whole time...i mean a nice shirt)), it was a 4 course meal and was very nice indeed. After this it was time for the days main event, to go see the musical 'Hair', it was quite possible nearly my fav. Musical of all time (second to the rocky horror picture show), it was so cool to see basically what it was like in the 60's and if you ever get the chance to see it you really should. It really made for a great evening, and is a very interactive musical in the sense that the people come down from the stage and come and do stuff to the people....like give out flowers and kiss them and well i will not give it all away, you will just have to see it!

After it ended we headed back to the hotel for the last night’s sleep before we head back to Boston.

Day 4 - The Game

Today we woke up at around 7 and was ready for something to eat right away, so we headed for 'ellen's star dust' a very cool place where the waiters and waitresses would sing when they were notwaiting tables. This was great fun and i had chocolate chip pancake, which where great and set me for the day.
We then headed for the sony centre where they had a huge store full of amazing tech, and a interactive thingy where you walked around and it told you about history of sony etc. This was ok but aimed at a younger age group really. After the sony centre we took a walk to apples flag ship store, now i don't normally like anything to do with apple however the store was very cool, the whole store was underground and the entrance was a large glass cube. We walked around the store and looked at the over priced mac stuff, then decided it was time to crash in the hotel for a few mins before we headed for the baseball game that evening.
We met up with my grandparents friend again and went down to the subway to get a train, the place was just the same as most subway i had been to, very hot and very busy. We crammed are selves into the train and headed for the stadium.
The trip talk about 30min, however for a long time we where able to get seats so most of the trip was......live able.
We got to the stadium and filtered through up to the seats and got hotdogs and drinks. The game was the mets against the braves, and was my first baseball game. For those that have never been there are people always working around the seats selling food and drinks etc. After this i decided that the new york accent is completely suited to shouting really loudly 'SODA' and 'WATER', one women could be heard from nearly half way round the stadium. There was also a child behind us that everytime she yelled would echo it back in a fake New York accent which was very funny.
In the end the mets won 8-4 so everyone was very happy, but like 5 seconds after they had won and the game was over there was a spot of rain and then within seconds there was a full blown storm with very strong winds and lighting etc. it was very cool but made getting back to the train station very interesting, lets just say we where not the driest of people by the time we made it to the station.
The ride back was fine apart from the lighting which was moving closer and closer, now we decided being in a completely metal train may not be the best of places to be when lighting hit, but we made it and noone got fried.
What was even better was when we got out of the subway the rain had stopped and talk with it much of the heat, so we happily walked back to the hotel where we collapsed on the beds before getting ready to go to sleep. At this point the tv was on and so once we where ready for bed I turned it off, however about 2 seconds later it turned itself back on.....it keeps doing this if you use the remote to turn it off which is very very strange and a bit odd, but hey its a hotel weirder things have happened........

Day 3 - New York here we come

Just wanted to say sorry for the late post wifi at the holtel isnt free so had to wait to find some.
We got up nice and early and had breakfast, then headed for the park and ride place to get a bus into boston. We came very close to missing the bus but jumped on just in time and headed for Boston where we would get the bus to New York.
When we got to Boston we found where the new york bus would come in, there was already a line and it seemed there where quite a few people who had not been able to get on the last bus, it seems they had over book. But we just made it on the bus we should have got on so all was ok. Would you belive it only cost $14 per person to go from boston to new york! It cost more to go from the park and ride to Boston it was crazzy how cheap it was, the bus was even really nice, lots of leg room, leather seats, and the coolest i have ever seen on a bus...the bus head WIFI!! it made the 4 hour trip go by so so quickly.
Well we made it in one peace to New York, got off the bus and straight into a taxi to take us to the hotel, where we checked in and relaxed for a while. A friend of my grandmas then met us at the hotel, she was going to take us out on the town and take us to eat etc. (she had lived in new york all her life and knew all the best places) We had dinnar at a amazing pizza place, she then told us about a place she really wanted to have taken us to dinnar at a place called Rao's, but basicly unless you 'know the right people' there is no way in hell you get in. Its the kind of place where you dont order they tell you want your going to eat.
So after dinnar we stopped in at a icecream place, this was the first time and im sure not the last time that the person serving could not at all understand what i was saying. I had to say it about 5 times before they understood and all i was asking was for some dark chocolate icecream.
It was starting to get on into the evening now so we headed for the clubs. We stopped at the Blue Note jazz club which was very cool but ended up spending most of the night at 'the bitter end' which was having a open mic night. There where some very amazing song writers and singers who you never know may soon become very famous.
As the night moved on we decided to head back to the hotel and crash out to be early again the next morning....

Day 2 - The Lake

Well after what was a amazing nights sleep i decided to wounder downstairs and start my holiday. It was about 8am and yet it was already far hotter then most days even get in England, i was looking forward to taking a nice swim in the lake and have a lovely relaxing day. Sadly this just wasn't going to happen as it seemed the lake had a 'pollution warning' on it and it was advised not to go in the water at all. I wanted to see what it was like for my self, how bad could it be if they just advised you not to go in?
Well the answer was very bad i went down and saw a few dead
fish washed up by the dock and the water didn't look very friendly at all (see picture). So it was easy to say we wouldn't be going in the lake for a while.
So we decided it was time to head out and get something for breakfast, we went down to this little place where my grandparents go alot. The food was lovely, but it seemed every time i put my coffee cup down a women would come over and top it back up, and when i finally said i have had enough thank you she looked at me like i had just spat in her face.
After we had eaten we headed for the shop, are main thing we had to find was fox urine (you spray it on your garden and it keeps sunks and stuff away), we went into 3 gardening stores each time asking if they had any, each getting a look like we had two heads and where asking if we could rip there arms off and eat them. Needless to say they where not the brightest bunch of people to ever work in a gardening store, but in the end we did find some so its all good.
We then had to stop off at enough store to get food, (now as this point i need to tell you my grandma is blind) my grandad walk around the store reading off what was down each row to see if we needed to go down there as always my grandma had her shopping list in her mind, and wouldn't write it down or even tell my grandad what she needed. So we where walking around then he says do we need any kitty liquor, we both looked at him wondering what the hell he meant then i saw kitty litter, that was what he had meant to say...at least we think so who knows maybe they do make liquor to for cats?
After we had bought everything we headed home where for most of the day we just relaxed in the crazy hot heat. Some family came over that evening and we had a mini party and BBQ which was nice, even at 10pm it was still in the mid 80's so we slowly baked most of the day.

Until tomorrow i will say good bye and have a great day/evening
