Day 1 - The jump across the pond

For those that didn't know for the next two weeks i am on holiday and will be blogging about what i get up to, days post doesn't have any pictures of video but allot of the days will, this will be taking with the wiki digital camera.
Anyway onto what happened....
It all started very early Saturday morning at 5:30am
(i didn't even know there was a 5:30 in the am before today!)
I was driven down to Heathrow airport to get my flight over to Washington DC. When we got to the airport i was told to check in using one of the automatic check in machine thingies, but it wouldn't work so i had to get manuely checked in. The people at the desk look at me as if i was crazy as i had paper tickets and this is why i couldn't check in at the machines. After checking in and getting through security where as always i set off the alarm and had to be searched i got something to eat and relaxed for a hour or so until my flight came up.
The flight came up on the screen saying boarding at...well i cant remember the gate number but boy did it seem far away. After working what seemed 50 miles even with the moving floors i got to my gate where i got stopped for a random carry on searching. they searched my bag and the women saw i had some new dollar bills in there, and she asked me if they where real cause they look very fake, i laughed and said no they are real but all American money looks quite fake even more so the new stuff. After that i boarded quietly and found my seat which i would have to be in for the next 8 hours...
The flight itself went ok, the people looked after us well and where very nice and kind however after 8 hours my body was really starting to have enough and on the way back down to Washington i really didn't start to feel that well. But i made it off the plane without trowing up so all was ok. I got through immigration nice and quickly (this is the one point when having a US and English passport pays off) and then had to run for my next flight, i looked at the board and saw i had basically 30mins to get from one end of the airport to the other! This was the worst part of my whole journey across the pond, trust me
running when your still feeling a bit stick really isn't a good idea.
I made it to the plane and got on but by this point really wasn't feeling well, i had a glass of water and just closed my eyes and was however able to make it through the flight without being sick.
When we landed in Boston it felt so good to not have to get on another plane for a few weeks, i was picked up by my grandma and grandad who I'm staying with while I'm in Boston, once i got the house i dropped my bags and crawled right into bed where i slept until about 20 mins ago. And that is my first post of the trip across the pond, there will be more tomorrow if not today so stay tuned!
